The Best All Natural Banana Bread

We all have a few of those amazing family recipes that don’t come close to comparing to any recipe you can find out there when looking for a natural substitute. Because family recipes are the! Especially my family’s Banana Chocolate Chip Bread!! I tried way too many different “all-natural” Banana Bread recipes before I finally got the idea in my head, “Hey, why not just switch out the ingredients for their natural substitutes??”. And it worked! I’m going to show you just how easy it was!!

(P.S. I’m obsessed with my Kitchen Aid Mixer! Isn’t it the cutest?! It was a wedding gift from my parents, and I’ve been in love with it since day one! If you don’t have one, it’s definitely worth the investment! Praise God for Amazon Prime and their free 2 day shipping!)

my family’s original recipe:

Banana Chocolate Chip Bread

1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cup sugar
1-2 ripe bananas (mashed)
2 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup chocolate chips

All of the ingredients that need to be swapped out have been made bold.

the revised, all natural recipe.

Again, I’ve made sure to bold the ingredients that I substituted in!

All Natural Banana Chocolate Chip Bread

1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup coconut sugar
1-2 ripe bananas (mashed)
2 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup whole milk
1/2 cup 60% cacao chocolate chips

Easy right?? Don’t over think it! Usually, the substitute that you need to use speaks for itself. This is obviously a pretty easy recipe to convert, but you get the idea! Some recipes do need the amounts altered a bit too, so it might be a little bit of trial and error until you get the hang of it, but don’t give up!!

I hope you guys LOVE this banana bread recipe as much as I do! Let me know in the comments if you try it! I’d love to hear your feedback!!

Naturally, The Taylors
